Right now, I am working on a book about F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sheilah Graham, and Hollywood in the 1930s. It will also contain a lot of drinking, powder blue suits, dances at the Cocoanut Grove, betrayal, gossip columns, crazy ladies, secret Jews, film lot moguls, and Dorothy Parker quips at funerals. If the world is still around then, it should be out from Random House around 2014. So let's hope the Mayans were wrong.

I love that there are now four (update, make that five) “What Would ____ Do” tumblr blogs referring to Mad Men launched within a week of each other. What would Betty do, anyone? I think it involves shooting doves and smoking over pot roast and and looking perfect.

This tumblr-as-tv-character thing is catching on like VD. Every show for the fall is going to get one—stake your claim early if you want to be one of the 5,000 hopefuls vying for the b(log)ook deal. I want to see a muppets one, personally. Go forth.
