I cast the men in this photo shoot for New York a couple years ago (sort of a random thing) and got the chance to meet Ari Versluis, a dutch photographer who makes “Exactitudes,” portraits of roving bands of people rather than individuals. His process is the most interesting: his subjects are instructed how to dress and what to bring, and must all stand in the same pose, one after another, like moving through a deli line. I still really admire his work, and he has made a ton of these.
