A thing to see/put on your calendar: Josh Ritter with the NY Pops in Rumsey Field in Central Park, for freeeee, on June 12. I have been following Josh’s career since he was a folk music major ditching neuroscience for an acoustic guitar in Ohio (and roommates with my cousin, who has managed him since—disclaimer!), and it’s been amazing how far he’s come. Here he is with the Boston Pops, doing his thing. This will be a good summer show, perfect park fare. Just sayin’.

Right now, I am working on a book about F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sheilah Graham, and Hollywood in the 1930s. It will also contain a lot of drinking, powder blue suits, dances at the Cocoanut Grove, betrayal, gossip columns, crazy ladies, secret Jews, film lot moguls, and Dorothy Parker quips at funerals. If the world is still around then, it should be out from Random House around 2014. So let's hope the Mayans were wrong.
