I’m recapping Smash for the LA Times now, because I cannot resist a jazz hand to save my life. I can’t decide if I love it or hate it. I’m drawn to spangles, but repelled by bad screenwriting. Whatever to do?

If any of you have ever read the Dear Sugar column at The Rumpus, then you know that it is no typical advice line. Last night, Sugar revealed herself as the wonderful Cheryl Strayed, a novelist and author of the lovely/heartbreaking/remarkable memoir, Wild, coming out 3/26 from Knopf. I am so happy to say that the cat is out of the bag, and that I am lucky enough to get to host a big fete for Sugar herself when she rolls through NYC in March. Please come. Will be a blast. Music, special guests, a Dear Sugar box, a raffle, afterparty…it’ll be a Sweetpea fest for the ages.
Tickets here. Just 10 bucks. Will sell out!

See you all in a week!
